3. What attracts you to see a film?

The genre
If there has been a proven track record of films produced by the director/actor
4. What type of audience do you think our media products are targeted at?
Aimed at people in their late teens and adults (i.e. 18+)
5. What genre/s do you think our media products are?
I feel that the project is a mixture of two genres- horror being one and thriller being the other.
6. Do you think the use of colour on our magazine front cover and film poster fits the genre? If so, how?
Yes it does the abstract font used for the title of the film on a greyscale picture creates a sense of mystery. The readers then starts to associate the subheading under the film name with the name of the magazine EMPIRE, the reader starts to assume that these colours are referring to the film as both black and red are linked with themes or death, mystery and violence.
7. Do you think the imagery is appropriate considering the genre and target audience? Why?
My personal opinion is yes because I think the films intended viewers are adults and those in their late teens; it is not intended for people under the age of 18 as the disturbing themes within the film may be a bit too much for the younger audience. Furthermore, I think the stereotype people have developed with genres of film they will be able to differentiate between the horror genre and a children’s genre; as if the image was a picture of cartoon you would automatically know that the film is intended for younger viewers. So therefore, the imagery shouldn’t be a problem.
8. Is the house style the same throughout our magazine front cover and film poster?
Yes the theme of the film is clearly linked through both types of media.
9. Is there anything we can do to improve our media products?
No, I think they have tried there very best and I can’t see any faults with the project.
10. Do you think our teaser trailer, magazine front cover and film poster fulfil their purposes?
Yes, as all three of them don’t give too much away. This creates curiosity within the viewer which in turn makes the viewer want to go and see the film.

No
